PDF Page Numbers
Stamps page numbers onto a PDF that has none — bottom centre, bottom right, or top right, starting from any number you choose. Useful for documents that will be printed, referenced in meetings, or submitted where numbered pages are required.
How to use
- Pick or drop the PDF.
- Choose the position: bottom centre, bottom right, or top right.
- Set the starting number — 1 by default, or higher to continue from a previous part.
- Apply and download the numbered PDF.
When you actually need this
- Numbering a contract or filing where clauses are cited by page.
- Adding numbers to merged scans before printing a hand-out.
- Continuing numbering across split volumes by setting the start number.
- Meeting the "all pages numbered" requirement of court or agency submissions.
What the stamp looks like
Numbers are set in Helvetica and written into the page content itself, so they print exactly as shown and survive any viewer. The stamp goes on every page including any cover; if the cover must stay clean, extract the body pages first, number them, then merge the cover back. Pages that already contain content in the chosen corner will have the number drawn over it, so pick the position that is empty across the document.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere when I use PDF Page Numbers?
No. The file is opened and rewritten inside your browser, so contracts, invoices, medical records and anything else confidential never leave your device. This also means the tool keeps working if your connection drops mid-task.
Does PDF Page Numbers preserve the original quality and text?
Yes. Pages are copied as they are, so vector text stays selectable and searchable rather than being flattened into an image. Only tools that explicitly re-encode images will change the visual data.
Can PDF Page Numbers open a password-protected PDF?
An encrypted PDF has to be unlocked before it can be processed. Open it in your PDF reader, save an unprotected copy, and then run that copy through the tool.
